Wednesday's Walk ~ Honeymooning

I have been dreaming of warmer places the last few days and it got me reminiscing about our honeymoon. I you know my hubbby and me; you would not be surprised that we went to Disney World for our honeymoon....too cute!

Yes, they were painting the castle pink for one of their celebrations.

Our first date was seeing Beauty and The Beast at the movie theater....fitting!

So young we were and very cute....Love it.

Wednesday's Walk ~ Grandpa's Hat

Last week, I wrote about my dad's dad...today I will remember my mom's dad.

I always think of my grandpa as very dashing. Even in his old age when he would fall asleep in his lazy boy while watching television....there was just something about him. I love him and miss him very much. It has been 15 years since he left his home here to find a better one in heaven with Christ.

There were a few things that I wanted after he was gone some of his paint brushes and one of his hats. I always loved that my grandpa wore a hat when he went visiting and not just a cheap baseball hat or winter hat. You know the kind that you crease with your hand?! He wore a real hat, a fedora hat!

When they came to visit he would have on his trench coat and fedora. I loved seeing him like that. I can still picture him coming up our driveway on a particular snowy day with a smile on his face.

One of my other fond memories is that whenever he called you on the phone on of the first things he would always say to you was..."Hey, you are looking good!" I would always giggle and say, "Oh grandpa, you are silly you can't see me on the phone."

He was a wonderful grandpa! I miss him; but I will see him soon.

Wednesday's Walk~ Grandpa's Pond

This is my fantastic Grandpa. He is so wonderful and I love him so much. I have been scanning old pictures and I found some of the pond that he constructed in their backyard in the city. Unfortunately, these pictures are of when he was working on it....not finished. My Grandma later went in with all the beautiful flowers and bushes that made it beautiful. I will have to try to find pictures of it finished; but this is all I have for now.

I loved that pond as a kid. We would roll up our pants to catch tadpoles and goldfish. We would capture our cousins and banish them to the island in the middle. I would skip around the outside path singing my heart out. We would sit on the bridge and dangle our feet. So many fond memories.......

So thank you Grandpa for building more than just a pond but building memories for your grandkids.
