Wednesday's Walk - 4th of July Traditions

For most of my life, I have spent the 4th of July in the beautiful town of Ludington. We go to the horrendously long parade and then in the evening sit on the beach to watch the spectacular fireworks. I love every minute of it.

Enjoying the parade!
Having fun on the beach; but not loving the sand...poor little man. LOL
This one family does this on the beach every 4th.
Fun sunset photos...

Our traditional family shot!

This years fireworks were the best ever! Wednesday's Walk Ideas:
Do you have any 4th of July traditions?
Do you have any fun firework memories?

  1. We usually go to Alma Nebraska for the fourth of July. At least we did when John's folks were still alive. They owned a grocery store and each year we sat outside of the market and watched the parade. Main street is lined with flags and it looks like a scene from a Norman Rockwell picture that might be named..."Small town America!"

They have a lake, and the huge fireworks display are shot off on the other side of the lake so all can see. it was very festive, and we would end the night with ice cream.

I wrote a previous blog about our celebration this year here at home, so today I will just link up my current post to Wednesday's walk Christina.

  2. Hi Christina...I left a comment once, but I don't see it here. Maybe it is waiting for approval or something. Anyway, I enjoyed your 4th of July post. What a wonderful place to go for the 4th. I loved the sand sculptures!

I love parades on the 4th...and of course, the Fireworks. I'm not crazy about the big booms...but I do love the reason why we celebrate!

I linked up a poem I wrote today. My 4th of July post was a few days back.

    Have a great day!

  4. Hi Christina! Been a while since I was here. So happy you are doing WW!

Love LOVE your sunset photos, beautiful colors! Wish we had a beach like that around here, I would totally make cool stuff like that family in your photo does. Neat-o!

We always have open invite to family and friends for July 4th to come to our house (now for ten years we've done this). Our kids always come, my sons do the BBQing, the daughters-in-law and I do the side dishes and desserts, the kids play in the kiddie pool, and we do family fireworks all day and big stuff in the evening. July 4th is my oldest son's birthday, and we have several other birthdays in July, so we use that day of getting together to celebrate all July birthdays too. It's a fun day for all of us.
