30 Days of Prayer 2011~ Day 5

For the next 30 days I am going to spend "30 Days in Prayer". I want to focus the next month on prayer. I am going to follow the simple pattern Jesus gave us, the Lords Prayer. Join me as I sharpen my prayer life and let this time encourage and strengthen your walk with the Lord.

What God's Word says about Prayer: (Lord, I want my prayer to be a sweet aroma, an act of worship)

Psalm 141:2 (New Living Translation)
Accept my prayer as incense offered to you, and my upraised hands as an evening offering.

Prayer Guide:
I am using the "Lord's Prayer" as a guide. (Matthew 6:9-13)

1. Praise God for Who He is! (vs. 9)

Today, I am going to focus on: He is Stronger!

Psalm 89:8 (King James Version)
LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?

2. Pray for His Will to be done! (vs.10)

Today, I am going to focus on: His will in our church!

3. Pray for Him to meet our needs! (vs. 11)

Today, I am going to focus on:

  • My children would be protected by the strong arm of Jesus
  • John be strengthened by the power of Jesus
  • Womens Ministry in our church
  • Salvation for family
  • Missionaries finances

4. Pray for forgiveness and that I would forgive others. (vs. 12)

I love, love, love this verse!

Colossians 3:13 (New Living Translation)
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

5. Pray for Help against Temptation! (vs. 13)

1 Peter 1:7 (New Living Translation)
7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

Don't forget to put your armor on....

Belt of Truth

Breastplate of Righteousness

Feet fitted with the Gospel of Peace

Shield of Faith

Helmet of Salvation
Sword of the Spirit

6. Thank God for His Goodness (vs. 13 NKJV)

Today, I am going to focus on: Thanking Him because
He is my Super, Strong God!
7. Wait on God

To pray is to grasp heaven in one's arms; to embrace the Deity within one's soul, and to feel one's body made a temple of the Holy Spirit.
~C. H. Spurgeon

In the Super Strong name of Jesus, Amen!
